POD!

Last night I went to Pod with a bunch of people from work. Right now is University City Dining Days, which is where a number of restaurants in University City offer price-fixed menus. They have this sort of thing in Center City as well. Well we all decided to go to Pod, and I made a reservation for 10 of us at 9:30pm on Wednesday. Most restaurants during dining days have choices for appetizers, entrees, and desserts; Pod, however, had a list of different dishes, except you didn't get to choose anything. They brought out everything on the price-fixed menu and just varied the amount depending on how many people there were. This was actually really cool because then you got to try stuff you might not typically order on your own.

We were all really impressed not only by the insanely speedy service, but also by the quantity of food. Usually at fancy restaurants, they serve tiny portions; but they just kept bringing out plate after plate. Everything was delicious too. Also, best of all, we got to sit in a Pod, which is an enclosed booth-like seating area. The most fun aspect of the Pod is that there are colored buttons along the wall, and when you press a button, the lighting changes to that color. I'm already looking forward to the next restuarant week in September.
